Early Life, Education, and Background
Not much is known about Cara Whitney’s life prior to marriage, as she successfully managed to retain her privacy despite the attention that celebrity marriages are subject to. From the little that is known, she was born in the year 1976 in the state of Wisconsin, although speculations regarding the exact date are scarce.
She reportedly attended a local high school in Wisconsin, where she is believed to have discovered her passion for writing and acting. Details concerning the remainder of her education are limited, though it is said that she attained her bachelor’s degree in the year 1998. She reported belonging to a family of farmers, and her father is said to own a farm in Wisconsin. This is seemingly where her affinity for animals stems from.
Cara Whitney began her career as a radio DJ at a local radio station in Los Angeles, California, after she moved out of her hometown. It is around this time that she crossed paths with her now-husband, Larry the Cable Guy. Post marriage, she quit her career as a radio DJ and continued her role as an author. As of 2021, she has to her credit three books:
- Unbridled Faith: 100 Devotions from the Horse Farm

Cara Whitney and her husband tied the knot on July 3, 2005. Together, they both are proud parents to two children, Wyatt, a son, and Reagan, a daughter. Their marriage shattered the notions of glamorous and elaborate celebrity weddings, as they exchanged their vows in a simple field ceremony held in the state of Nebraska.
The couple has been heavily active in various philanthropic activities, the stimulus for which stemmed from their son being diagnosed with hip dysplasia. After his successful treatment, they decided to channelize their donations into helping establish an International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Furthermore, they also happen to run another non-profit organization by the name of the Git-R-Done Foundation.
